Great article, relatable. Older adults will ask, “why didn’t you say anything?” But then they often either don’t believe you or brush it off, later selectively repressing the memory. It makes the shame and victimization even worse for the victim. That’s the hardest part of dealing with being sexually abused as a child and it’s a large part of the reason why so many ppl remain silent and never reveal that they were abused. Smh

Cerebral is a very affordable option for therapy. Its devastating when people doubt the pain you were/are in. I am so so sorry.
