Stanley I can’t believe you weren’t writing fiction before and I’m so glad you’ve started!! You have a gift. Please continue also I hope you submit this somewhere it’s so funny and good!
“President Biden died two days before voters cast their ballots. Despite this turn of events, he was re-elected.” Usually when I say LOL I’m lying. Not this time.
I loved it. Nice use of 1st of Tha Month! I like putting a song of the day in each of my newsletter editions, so I’m feelin it. I’m a new subscriber and already a big fan.
Is there anything you CANNOT write??? 😭 This is brilliant friend! Damn! I am jealous in all the good ways and in awe.
"Many people complain about our world's current state, but I think they’re just making excuses. If you work hard and complete your mandated hours of labor, the opportunities will flow. I can see my opportunities in the horizon, with only 2000 hours of mandated “volunteer labor” left I’m at the precipice of making money. Real Money. That 6 dollars an hour is going to be a game-changer!"
--- That part got me laughing and almost crying at the same time. How ridiculous when we see it put like that, but we actually live in it 🫠
Thank you for making me both laugh and grimace in recognition. At your intro, my initial reaction was: oh sh** did I miss something important in the news??? WW4 wtf! Upon reading your next sentence, I was hooked. I loved the saved my the bell reference, and bless GSH. Thank you for including excellent music in your short story. The question: “were they taken care of?” sent chills down my spine. I enjoyed the self referential awareness of your final sentence: “I’m curious.” Brilliant callback. To me the story read as both a mirrored reflection of the brutal reality of postmodern capitalist exploitation as well as a vital warning about the dangers of othering vulnerable people. The lethal idea of us verses them is culturally constructed in order to prevent people from seeing each other’s humanity or forming solidarity among “the stupid masses <3.” Thank you for sharing this powerful story.
Thanks for making time to read my post Jessica. The world can feel overwhelming at times, and I’m constantly worried about the trajectory we’re headed towards. Writing these dystopian short stories has been a bit of therapy for me. They’re fun to put together and share. I’m really happy it resonates with you.

The whole thing had me chuckling throughout. Funniest thing was definitely the cyborg CEO Hillary Musk the 3rd lol.
Thank you for reading, and honestly are we really that far off from this type of future? 😂
Oh no I got the creeps reading it for sure. It’s a creepy scifi out there.
