The double standard is deeply ingrained in our culture, and it is good to be reminded how senseless it is.

This is a refreshing take coming from a man. If I hear the key and key hole analogy one more time in my lifetime, I'll scream.

It's amazing to me that so many undesirable men are convinced that wallowing in the bitterness of "sour grapes" will somehow save them from their loneliness. "Every woman who sleeps with someone who isn't me but won't sleep with me is deserving of ire" is a helluva take on romantic relationships. And always the ire comes from her having the sexual agency to deny him.

I think it comes from back when women were seen as property. You didn't want "dirty" property, you wanted someone who would obey. Any woman in charge of her sexuality is not a woman who would obey. Sad that those ideas continue. The more our culture moves toward equality in other ways, the less this will be a problem I imagine.

It’s about time more men use their voices to stand up for women and their right to have bodily autonomy and agency. Thanks for this.

So many thoughts but I'll leave these:

1) Agree with all of these points, and it will be interesting in about 10 or so years when my kids are teenagers walking into the social judgment.

2) Tristian and I would need to have a separate conversation...cuz dawg...don't call my dad and talk to him about what you think my sex life entails.... I would be interested in knowing more about yalls relationship and how cool he was with your dad to do that at 19.

3) You're from Flatbush? In my dollar van voice outside of Kings Plaza "Flatbush, Flatbush, Utica!"
