Don't Call it a Comeback

After taking the summer off to recharge, I'm getting back into the swing of things

It’s been a while since I published my own written work here, and to be honest, after spending most of 2023 writing at a pretty consistent clip, working a full-time job, and trying to figure out what life looks like in this new Covid filled world, I needed a break. Sure, there was my Podcast, “Tyler Perry is a Genius…Maybe” and a couple of guest posts, but the consistency wasn’t there.  As a result, this newsletter didn’t have much fresh content over the summer, save for the Tyler Perry Podcast (Which I hope to continue with my boy Kadeem) and a few guest posts from friends and fellow writers. This brings me to why I’m writing this post, I have some good news!

Starting next week, you can expect to see consistent posts coming from me again, but that’s not all! Along with weekly posts from me (every Tuesday), you will also be seeing stuff from other writers. While I started this newsletter to discuss Patriarchy, sexism, race, and music, the goal was never for me to be the only one who discussed these things. Good conversations that help us think, learn, and grow can only happen when there are multiple voices in the room. With that in mind expect to see more from our good friend Evan Mastronardi ( He and I are cooking something up), more Podcast on Tyler Perry Movies, and some additional voices sharing their thoughts on the platform.
