I’m pissed at the corruptness that permeates our country but this was a hell of a piece bro 👏🏽

Stanley I don't know enough about Mayor Adams and I'm grateful you took the time to highlight a bit of his history. I'll just be enjoying the comments on this one, since I don't know enough to weigh in. But thanks for your hard work, as always.

He’s not being unfairly targeted although he probably is being made an example of because he’s Black. He probs thought he could get away with the same thing his white counterparts have done. That being said he gets what he gets and I don’t feel bad for him 🤭

He really isn’t, and I definitely think they’re making an example out of him. But he also definitely did that shit. Adams has been corrupt for decades

Becoming an adult and realizing just how corrupt most politicians are in some way and playing into corporate greed was such a disappointment. I don't even understand how he's allowed to still be mayor with mounting evidence of these charges. It grinds my gears when folk invoke religion when they're experiencing the consequences of their own actions and unfortunately folks eat it right on up.

It’s truly demoralizing.

I really appreciated this piece, and frankly, I think I needed it. Despite knowing full well Adams long history of causing harm, whether through policy or his own time as NYPD, it's hard to watch a Black man being targeted and not feel deeply uncomfortable. But then I think of this most recent incident at the Brownsville subway station, where cops went insane (again) and critically injured innocent people, including one man who now has brain damage (and who knows btw, what the consequences will be for his life), and Adams only response was to say the cops acted with restraint. Despite all the compassion he seems to have for himself, he has nothing left for others. Whether homeless New Yorkers, desperate asylum seekers, or bystanders shot in the head, he's only got space for his own victimhood.

This is exactly it! Time will tell if he did the things he was accused of, but what we know about him already is how he governs and treats those he does not see value in.
