If you ever want to be humbled, open up an empty notebook, or a blank page in a google doc, and assign yourself the task of creating something that will fill the void. Sound challenging? Good. While you’re at it, try to write something that is clear, engaging, and has a point. Because, if you’re going to put pen to pad, or words on a screen, why not make it mean something?
Now, as you’re putting your all into every single word, make sure to save some emotional and mental energy for cohesiveness, and clarity. But don’t make it too “wordy” or “in the weeds” write so that most people can understand. Once you’re done, go through the tedious, and sometimes painful process of editing, come up with an interesting headline, have a minor panic attack, and then share it with the world. How did that feel? Oh, before I forget, there’s a chance that no one will care about your topic or even about you as a writer. Actually, more than likely, they have no idea who you are.
